NEET UG : Exam on July 17,enrolment starts from April 2
NEW DELHI: This year’s National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (undergraduate) or NEET-UG will be held on July 17 and online registration for the exam will start on April 2. The single-day pen-paper exam for admission to medical and allied programs will be conducted in 13 languages. The registration period is likely to remain open till May 7 and a five-day correction window will be opened in mid-May. Sources at the National Testing Agency (NTA) said that it will notify the exam schedule on March 31, 2022. The exam date was fixed after consultations with the National Medical Commission, the ministry of health, and the education ministry.
In 2021, a record 16,14,777 candidates registered for the NEET-UG exam, of which 95.6% appeared. A total of 8,70,074 (about 56.4%) candidates qualified for the exam. The number of female candidates who qualified for the exam was 1.19 lakh higher than the male aspirants. Three candidates were declared joint toppers with a perfect score of 720 marks. Category-wise, close to four lakh OBC candidates qualified for the test, while around 2.4 lakh unreserved candidates qualified. The directorate general of health services (DGHS) will conduct the counseling for 15% all-India quota seats and also for those in deemed universities, central universities, ESIC, AFMC, BHU, and AMU
