NEET 2021 Exam Analysis: Experts give break up of question paper, share section wise review & analysis

KEY HIGHLIGHTS
- NTA has concluded NEET 2021 examination.
- Over 16 lakh studetnts had reportedly registered for the examination conducted today across India and centres abroad.
National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, NEET 2021 Examination has been conducted successfully. National Testing Agency, NTA conducted the examination in over 3800 examination centers in India and abroad. For the first time, NEET examination has also been conducted in center in Dubai. More than 16 lakh students have reportedly appeared for the examination. The first feedback of students who have appeared for the examination have started to arrive. NEET 2021 Exam Analysis: Student reactions
The examination ended a few minutes ago and the first reactions are now here. As per the initial feedback, Chemistry was said to be the toughest section of the 4. As for the choices, most students found the questions of equal difficulty level.
“Chemistry, particularly organic and bio-chemistry was tough but the overall difficulty level was as expected. Botany was confusing and Physics and zoology were relatively easy,” shared Medha who appeared for the examination.
Chaitanya, another student who appeared for the examination today reported Physics to have a few unexpected questions. As for chemistry, the questions from Mole concept were said to be of lengthy calculations. “Overall it was an okay paper. I am confident of qualifying the examination,” he shared. More feedback is awaited.
NEET 2021 Expert Review, Question Paper and Answer Key
First review of the experts for NEET 2021 is now available. Mr.Saurabh Kumar, Director Academics, Vidyamandir Classes who has reviewed the question paper has stated that the level of question paper this year was far improved than last year. This year the paper had many questions in match the column format and assertion and reasoning were also increased. Overall, he shared, the paper was of good quality,
Mr. Anurag Tiwari, National Academic Director (Medical), Aakash Educational Services Ltd. has also reviwed the NEET 2021 question paper and called it easy to moderate. Overall the difficulty level was seen to be slightly greater but the paper, he stressed, was NCERT centric.
Physics:
- Difficulty level – Moderate to Difficult
- Numerical dominated the paper with 70% which is greater as compared to previous years.
- No controversial question.
- Tricky questions are asked from Optics, Semi-Conductors, and Photoelectric Effect
- 4-5 trickier questions also present in both section A & B
- Paper was lengthy
Chemistry
- Difficulty level – Easy to Moderate
- Most of the questions are based on the NCERT figures, facts and their tables
- Most of the questions are based on the fundamentals discussed in the NCERT
- Large number of statement-based questions are asked
- A question based on the acidic strength of Halogen Acids is repeated
- Good number of numerical are asked
- Approx. 3 Questions based are on graphs and Approx. 5 Questions are of matrix match type
- Not very lengthy
Botany
- Difficulty level - Easy to Moderate
- A few questions are difficult and seem tricky.
- Questions are based on the NCERT syllabus.
- Most of the questions are straightforward from the NCERT textbooks.
- Majority of questions are factual in nature with a few concept-based questions as well
- Not at all lengthy
Zoology
- Difficulty level – Moderate
- Certain questions appear to be easy at the first glance, but they are twisted and require precision and focus on the keywords
- Surprise factor is a question on Earthworm which only those would have attempted who were well versed with NCERT
- Questions are based on the NCERT syllabus.
- Chapters from Biotechnology have dominated strongly (11-12 questions)
- Paper is highly NCERT centric, yet 3-4 questions appear to be highly interlinked requiring deep understanding.
- In the unit on Human Physiology, approx. 4 questions are asked from Locomotion and Movement
