NEET 2020 Dress Code by NTA and Exam Day Guidelines
- Non-compliance of the instructions mentioned on the admit card or issued by NTA will mean disqualification of the candidate, and will not be allowed to enter NEET Exam Center.
- NEET 2020 Admit Card has been released on the official website of NTA on August 26, 2020. You can download the admit card by entering your login credentials.
NEET 2020 Exam Day Guidelines
The timings of the NEET 2020 are from 2 PM to 5 PM. No candidate will be allowed to enter the examination hall after the prescribed time. Due to the current situation and for the safety of candidates authorities will conduct proper screening and as a preventive measure candidates might be asked to reach the examination 1 to 2 hours early. However, the exact details will be mentioned in your admit card that you need to follow strictly.
- Candidates will not be allowed to enter the examination hall after 1.30 PM.
- All the candidates must carry the essential documents i.e. NEET Admit Card, Id Proof, Pwd Certificate (if applicable).
- Do not carry any barred item with you in the exam centre.
- Candidates must cooperate with the frisking at the exam centre.
- Strictly follow the dress code prescribed by NTA. If candidates are wearing the customary dress, they need to report at the allotted Examination centre latest by 12:30 pm on the day of examination.
- Candidates breaching the code of conduct will not be allowed to take the examination and can also be debarred from the examination if required.
Remember to Carry these Documents on Exam Day
All the candidates must carry the following documents with them otherwise they will not be allowed to enter the examination hall.
- NEET 2020 Admit Card (Released): NEET 2020 admit card has been released on August 26, 2020 at ntaneet.nic.in. It is a mandatory document that must be carried at the exam center. The document will also be required during AIQ (All India Quota) & State counselling and Admission processes of various institutes.
- Valid ID Proof: Aadhar Card or any other valid ID proof is the essential document that one must present at the time of examination.
- Passport Size Photograph: Candidates are also required to carry multiple passport size photographs to NEET exam center. Photographs must be the same as used in the application form.
- Self Declaration Form: The self-Declaration Form is a new document that is mandatory to carry along with the above-mentiond documents. It is provided along with the admit card and need to filled by candidates.
NEET 2020 Advisory for COVID-19 by NTA
All the candidates are advised to go through the COVID-19 advisory released by NTA.
Pre-Examination Controls/ Measures
- Candidates need to maintain space as per the social distancing norms.
- Different Time Slot about the reporting at the examination centres to be printed as “Slot time” such as 11.00 A.M, 11.30 A.M.
- The location link will be provided in the admit card so that candidates can check the location of their exam centres.
- Additional notice boards will be provided to avoid crowding.
- Candidates will be required to carry a self-declaration regarding their COVID free health status.
- If a candidate has a temperature more than the recommend then he/ she will be sent to the isolation room.
- As a pre-exam measure, all the exam centres have to keep gloves, masks, sanitisers, disinfectants, etc.
- All the exam centres have to sanitize their gates, floors, walls with the disinfectant.
- Candidates will be moved to their exam rooms in groups of 15 boys and 15 girls.
- Candidates can carry their masks, gloves, small sanitiser bottle, water bottle with them inside the examination hall.
During Examination Controls/ Measures
- To resolve the issues of candidates, invigilators will need to sanitize their hands before and afterwards.
- Videography/CCTV live streaming will be conducted in each room.
- Manual Attendance and Handwriting sample will be collected at the candidate seat.
- Manual attendance with signature will be taken and the candidate will not remove his/ her gloves.
- No thumb impression will be taken.
- The physical movement of Invigilators inside the room to be minimized.
Post Examination Controls
- Only one candidate at a time will be permitted to move out in an orderly manner.
- The gloves and masks should be disposed of in a pedal push covered bin.
- Overcrowding to be avoided.
What to wear and what not to wear on the day of NEET 2020?

NEET 2020 dress code for Female Candidates.
A rise in the number of candidates appearing for NEET has been observed every year. The same trend is expected to be observed for NEET 2020. Hence it is advised to all female candidates to follow the below-mentioned dress code details in order to avoid any hassle at the time of entrance test.
NEET 2020 dress code for Male Candidates
The year 2017 saw many male candidates (along with female candidates) facing a lot of harassment with getting their shirts cut down into half sleeves, and many more. After this, strict dress code instructions have been issued by NTA for all male candidates on what all they can wear on the exam day. Thus, it is necessary if the male candidates focus on the below-mentioned details.
Is wearing jeans allowed in NEET 2020?
Many students have this question if they can wear jeans to NEET exam centres or not. Going by NEET 2020 dress code, wearing jeans can turn out to be a controversial point. For all male candidates, NTA recommends that they wear light coloured jeans only along with a short-sleeved t-shirt.
For female candidates, wearing denim pants or leggings is strictly prohibited in exam centres. Only salwars and trousers are allowed with either slipper, or low-heeled sandals. Wearing skinny jeans can also raise chances of objections, thus it is advised to avoid wearing them.
Items that are barred in NEET 2020
Candidates who will be appearing for NEET 2020 are required to respect and follow the defined code of conduct both outside and inside the examination room. Here is a list of items that are barred in NEET 2020:
- Any stationery item like textual material (printed or written), bits of papers, Geometry/Pencil Box, Plastic Pouch, Calculator, Pen, Scale, Writing Pad, Pen Drives, Eraser, Calculator, Log Table, Electronic Pen/Scanner etc.
- Any communication device like Mobile Phone, Bluetooth, Earphones, Microphone, Pager, Health Band etc.
- Other items like Wallet, Goggles, Handbags, Belt, Cap etc.
- All ornaments like Ring, Earrings, Nose-pin, Chain/Necklace, Pendants, Badge and Brooch etc. (e) Any Watch/Wrist Watch, Bracelet, Camera, etc.
- Any metallic item.
- Any edible item opened or packed, water bottle etc.
- Any other item which could be used for unfair means, for hiding communication devices like camera, Bluetooth device etc.
