Sechenov University prepares high-class general practitioners, specialty doctors and health professionals. Effective education organized in the University is achieved due to the highest professionalism of the teaching staff and the unique university facilities and infrastructure.
Consolidation of theoretical knowledge and acquisition of practical skills is carried out on the basis of seven University clinical hospitals. The University also has 20 academic and medical buildings and 16 interclinical medical and diagnostic services

Medical students are in direct interaction with patients. Annually over 62,000 patients receive inpatient care and more than 300,000 – outpatient care at the University clinics. All this allows them to get a great professional practice in the years of training.

The structure of Sechenov University includes 7 research institutes, which expands educational opportunities for students and allows them to find their own professional direction in medicine.

These days the University has a large computer park, multimedia complexes for providing lecture classes, Internet halls, virtual operating rooms and laboratories.

The University is improving the range of e-learning, which is designed to significantly optimize the education. It includes: remote case studies, web technologies, virtual reading rooms. All students have access to a unique fund of the scientific and medical library, which became the basis of the first in Russia Federal Electronic Medical Library.

In the University there is a center “Medicine of the Future” (since 2011), its activities are focused on scientific research. Students interested in professional research, can study on the basis of the Center and get the European Diploma Supplement at the end. This document, developed and approved by the European Commission, UNESCO and the Council of Europe, simplifies the process of confirming graduates’ certificates of education abroad.
