NRI MBBS ADMISSION GUIDELINES
In 2016 the Supreme Court of India made it compulsory for candidates of Non-Resident Indians (NRI), Persons of Indian Origin (PIO), Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) & other Foreign Nationals are to attend and clear National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). The cut off obtained in this test would form the basis of the selection to any Medical seat in India.
- NRI, PIO, OCI & Foreign Nationals are eligible for 15% of All India Quota seats.
- These category students won’t be able to apply for the General category seats.
- Indian Nationals, Non Resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizen of India (OCIs), Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) & Foreign Nationals are eligible for admission in Medical/Dental Colleges subject to rules and regulations framed by the respective State Governments, Institution and the Government of India.
DOCUMENTS REQUIRED:
- Candidates need to provide proof of sponsor in the form of a certificate provided by the Indian Embassy or Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. This certificate should be prescribed on a non-judicial stamp paper of Rs.50 by either of the Parents or the Guardians (Whoever is sponsoring the candidate)
- In case of the above document not being submitted, a duly notarized certificate from the country of the Sponsor’s residence can be considered as an alternate.
WHAT NEEDS TO BE KNOWN
- Either of the parents of the candidate should be an NRI and should have been residing in abroad as an NRI for the minimum duration of 5 Years.
- The Candidate should be a first-degree relation of the sponsor.
- It is also accepted if the students have been accepted as a ward by the following relation: 1) Siblings of either Parent 2) Grandparents from either Parents way. 3) First-degree cousin.
- A Proof of being sponsored in the form of the above-mentioned certificate.
- NRI bank account passbook for financial support
- Passport, Visa, Residential proof, work permit, and/or Nativity certificate of the financial sponsors.
MANDATORY DOCUMENTS OF NRI CANDIDATES
- Candidates Parents resident certificate issued by Embassy of the respective country.
- Candidates Passport/Visa/ Resident Visa
- Citizenship of the candidate
- Income Tax document
- Candidate’s study certificate, for studying outside of the country
